We welcomed colleagues and partners from across industry, government and the broader community to our Accelerating Decarbonisation: Ideas to Impact workshop to share conversation, connection and collaboration around one shared challenge: how do we accelerate the translation of decarbonisation technologies into real-world impact?

Dr Mike Tebyetekerwa has been selected as one of only nine Australian researchers invited to attend the 75th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in Germany - a prestigious opportunity for emerging scientific leaders.

Chemical engineers have found a way to fabricate film-thin membranes imbued with super strength that could extend the durability of decarbonisation technologies.

Independent analysis of Australia’s path to net zero has found progress is being made, but transitioning to renewable energy and cleaner industry and transport needs to happen much faster to reach the 2050 target.

On 30 October 2025, the UQ Dow Centre for Sustainable Engineering Innovation hosted an interactive Research Translation Workshop at the Andrew N. Liveris Building.

The UQ-developed technology absorbs carbon dioxide and generates electricity.

Researchers at UQ's Dow Centre for Sustainable Engineering Innovation have built a generator that absorbs carbon dioxide to make electricity.

UQ researcher Dr Mike Tebyetekerwa has designed technology that delivers cleaner, industry-grade hydrogen peroxide using only water and air.

Queensland’s path to net-zero emissions and the role of hydrogen were the topic of an insightful seminar hosted by the UQ Dow Centre for Sustainable Engineering Innovation and the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering (ATSE) at the University of Queensland (UQ).
