On 1 October 2026, We welcomed colleagues and partners from across industry, government and the broader community to our Accelerating Decarbonisation: Ideas to Impact workshop
The workshop was designed to create space for conversation, connection and collaboration around one shared challenge: how do we accelerate the translation of decarbonisation technologies into real-world impact?

One of the strongest themes that emerged from the discussions was that decarbonisation is not just a technology challenge, it is a collaboration challenge. This message echoed discussions at the Queensland Decarbonisation Hub Forum earlier in the week.
Key takeaways included:
- Need for greater alignment between industry, government, academia and communities
- Stronger understanding of stakeholder needs, priorities and constraints
- Better funding mechanisms to support translation, commercialisation and deployment of new technologies
- Early and ongoing engagement between researchers and end users
- Importance of long-term relationships and trust in successful partnerships
A sincere thank you to everyone who participated, shared perspectives and contributed to the discussions.
Special thanks to Leigh Staines for facilitating the panel session and panel members for generously sharing their insights, experiences and advice on decarbonisation priorities, technology adoption, and effective cross-sector collaboration.
The event also showcased projects supported through the Dow Centre's Accelerating Future Decarbonisation Technologies Seed Grants.
